Mokelumne Hill, CA– Mechanical failure of a school bus was the cause of a vegetation fire on Highway 26 and Robinson Ranch Road in Mokelumne Hill yesterday.
Multiple Cal Fire Units responded including firefighters from West Point, San Andreas, Amador-El Dorado, Valley Springs and Air Attack from Columbia. The 3 ½ acre vegetation fire began at around 4 pm and caused an estimated $1,000 worth of vegetation damage. There were no injuries and the bus driver was able to safely evacuate 40 students off the school bus.
