Update: Vegetation Fire In Calaveras County

Update at 3:45 p.m.:  CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore tells Clarke Broadcasting that the forward progress has been stopped at around a half acre in grass burning along Highway 12 near North Burson Road. She adds that the threat to structures has been mitigated and resources are being released. A small crew will remain on scene working towards full containment and mopping up. Further details on the fire are below.

Original post at 3:15 p.m.: Burson, CA — Ground and aircraft are battling a vegetation fire in the Burson area of Calaveras County. The flames broke out along Highway 12 near North Burson Road. CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore tells Clarke Broadcasting that the blaze is half and acre in size and structures are threatened, but how many and if there have been any evacuations is unclear at this time.
