Prescribe Burn Impacting CAL Fire TCU Dispatch

Groveland, CA — CAL Fire is advising the public regarding a prescribed burn in the Groveland and Big Oak Flat area today ahead of the Independence Day holiday.

As reported here yesterday, the Crook Ranch Vegetation Management Plan was set ablaze around 8 a.m. and, will continue until 6 p.m. today.  CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore reports that it is creating visible smoke, but asks that the public not call it in as a wildland fire as the CAL Fire dispatch line is being inundated with calls and hampering service.
