Update at 7:25pm: Firefighters have slowed a vegetation fire that has burned at least a couple of acres in the area of Highway 108 and Old Wards Ferry Road. The Sonora Police Department indicates that many of the earlier responding resources have been released as the fire has been controlled. Mop up operations will continue this evening. No structures were damaged, and it is not immediately clear what ignited the blaze.

Original story posted at 7pm: Sonora, CA — Air and ground resources are working to extinguish a two acre vegetation fire in the area of Highway 108 and Old Wards Ferry Road.
CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore reports that no structures are considered in immediate risk. Officials are aggressively fighting the blaze. Be prepared for activity in that area.
