Update at 7:35 a.m.: The Ferretti Fire burning in heavy timber along Ferretti Road and Pine Mountain Drive in the Pine Mountain Lake area, off Highway 120 has been extinguished. CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore reports it was contained at half an acre and the cause has not yet been determined, but is under investigation.
Update at 7:05 a.m.: CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore reports crews are getting a handle on the flames of the Ferretti Fire. It remains a half acre in size and burning in heavy timber. The flame’s rate of spread is low and no structures are threatened.
Original post at 6:40 a.m.: Groveland, CA — Fire crews along with aircraft are working a vegetation fire in the Groveland area.
CAL Fire has named it the “Ferretti Fire,” which is located along Ferretti Road and Pine Mountain Drive in the Pine Mountain Lake area, off Highway 120. CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore reports the blaze is a half acre in size and the flames are moving at a slow rate of spread. No structures are threatened. We will have updates as soon as additional information comes into the newsroom.
