Update 7:35am: CAL Fire reports this morning that the Madera Fire is now 100-percent contained.
Original story posted at 6:30am: Madera, CA — CAL Fire reports that the 213 acre Madera Fire, located off Highway 145 and Road 33 in the Bonadelle community of Madera County, is now 90-percent contained.
We reported yesterday the fire ignited during the five o’clock hour last night and a heavy amount of resources from the region were dispatched to the fire, including aircraft from the Columbia Air Attack base. No homes were damaged by the blaze and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Mop-up will continue today.
Yesterday was a busy one for fire activity, as a 202 acre blaze also ignited west of Copperopolis near Highway 4 and Milton Road.
