Update at 2:20 pm: CAL Fire reports that the dubbed “Flood Fire” burning in San Joaquin County just over the Calaveras County line has grown to 43.5 acres in size, but crews have stopped the forward rate of spread. All aircraft have been released from the scene.
CAL Fire reports that an RV was fully engulfed in flames along East Flood Road and North Waverly Road in the Linden-Peters area. The flames spread to nearby grass. Crews will remain on scene working to gain full containment and mopping up for several hours.
Update at 2:05 PM: CAL Fire reports that the grass fire is now three acres in size.
Original post at 1:55 pm: San Joaquin County, CA — Air and ground resources are heading to a report of the vehicle fire just over the Calaveras County line into San Joaquin County.
CAL Fire reports that an RV is on fire along East Flood Road and North Waverly Road, which is between Linden and Milton. The CHP is reporting thick black smoke billowing into the sky and that the flames have spread to nearby vegetation, but no size of the fire has been given. We will have an update as soon as more information comes into the newsroom.
