Yosemite, Ca — Congressman George Radanovich is praising a plan to build two temporary bridges on Hwy 140 that will allow large tour buses to have a path around the Ferguson Rockslide.
“As we approach the two year anniversary of the Ferguson Rockslide, I am encouraged to hear that Caltrans has heard the pleas of Mariposa County residents and Yosemite employees by moving forward with the construction,” said Radanovich in a statement.
Radanovich notes that the local economy relies heavily on the tourism industry and large tour buses are an important element. Two emergency bridges were put up immediately following the rockslide, but they only accommodate vehicles that are 28 ft. or shorter.
