Update: Cooper Fire Ignites Off J59 Near Hwy 132

Update at 5:10pm: CAL Fire reports that the forward rate of spread has been stopped on the Cooper Fire near La Grange. It is estimated to be 1-2 acres in size. The air tankers have now been released from the scene, but many of the ground resources remain to mop up the incident.

Original story posted at 4:45 pm: Sonora, CA — Columbia air resources are among the responders to the Cooper Fire in La Grange.

The incident report came in shortly before 4:30 p.m. The fire is located off J59 near Highway 132. CAL Fire spokesperson Emily Kilgore says the blaze is currently burning in about one acre of grass with a moderate rate of spread and that no structures are under threat.
