Angels Camp, CA – These felines pictured in the image box hope to celebrate the Labor Day holiday weekend by finding a forever home.
Calaveras Humane Society (CHS) is offering a fee-waived (free) kitten and cat adoption event on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
“We have about 17 cats and kittens altogether who are looking for loving homes,” shared CHS officials.
The adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, a certificate for a free “well check” at participating veterinary hospitals, a free starter bag of the same food we’ve been giving them, and more.
Adoptions are done on a first-come basis, and no advance holds are available. The doors to the shelter in Angels Camp off Highway 49 will open at 11 a.m., and the event runs until 4 pm. CHS shared that a grant from the ASPCA made this event possible.
