Calaveras County Flu Vaccine Clinics Announced
San Andreas, CA — Old, young and people with chronic medical conditions are being urged to attend one of seven clinics to receive a flu vaccination.
Colleen Tracy of the Public Health Department says it´s these people who can become seriously ill from the flu and are more likely to need hospitalization or die from a flu infection.
Vaccinations are also recommended for women who are pregnant or caregivers of high-risk persons.
The clinics are set for October 21 at Bret Harte High School in Angels Camp, November 6 and December 4 at Calworks in San Andreas, November 7 at the Copperopolis Armory, November 13 at the West Point Veterans Hall, November 16 at Good Samaritan Church in Valley Springs and November 20 at Chapel in the Pines in Arnold.
Pregnant women and parents of children under three years of age need to make an appointment at the health department to receive their vaccinations because they require a different kind than most people.
