Mother Lode Quartet Attend Cyber Conference

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — The Mother Lode quartet of District Attorney Don Segerstrom, Sonora Police Chief Mace McIntosh, Sgt. Jim Mele from the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department and County Superintendent of Schools Joe Silva spent their Wednesday in Sacramento attending a Cyber Conference sponsored by Governor Schwarzenegger.

Silva says that Tuolumne County will, in the very near future, provide workshops in order to share methods of protection for children to school board members.

A number of the Convention Center workshops dealt with protecting children from on-line predators by the use of filters, etc. Individuals from a number of major companies, including Microsoft, pointed out that once children are at home, it is the responsibility of the parents to closely monitor their kids on-line experience.

Silva added that Schwarzenegger received a standing ovation for his sincere comments and involvement in the state´s first Cyber Conference.
