CHP To Institute Maximum Enforcement For Thanksgiving
Sonora, CA — The Thanksgiving holiday is believed to be the busiest travel time of the year in California.
Holiday travelers, however, won´t be the only ones making the trip this year. The CHP will mount a major campaign against safety belt violations during the Thanksgiving holiday.
CHP reports indicate a total of 56 people were killed on California roadways in 2004, of the 39 vehicle occupants killed, 15 were not wearing seatbelts. Sonora CHP Commander Lt. Mike Ayala says wearing a seatbelt is the easiest and quickest way to save a life.
Starting at 6pm on Wednesday, November 23rd through midnight, Sunday November 27th, the CHP will be implementing maximum enforcement.
