Sentencing Of Former Lawman Delayed Until January

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — Sentencing of a former San Joaquin County sheriff´s deputy has been postponed until January 24th to give prosecutors more time to respond to a request for a new trial.

Monte McFall was convicted in March in a federal court trial in Sacramento of taking part in a corruption scheme that also involved two other former San Joaquin County officials, ex-Sheriff Baxter Dunn and former Supervisor Lynn Bedford.

They worked behind the scenes to help Sunlaw Energy Corporation in its bid to build a power plant in return for payment of up to $2 million.
