On Thursday, July 23rd we will hike up to Bear Lake for our first joint Tuolumne Group of the Sierra Club Hike with the new Outdoor Leaders, Kate Laughlin and Joanne McCullough. We will meet at 9:00 in the MiWuk Ranger station parking lot for introductions, information about the hike and possible ride sharing. Then we will drive to the Crabtree Trailhead for our 8 mile out and back hike. The Crabtree Trail is a great, moderate hike to the beautiful Bear Lake. It starts with a steep incline but levels out after about 30 minutes. We will rest at the small Camp Lake and then eat our lunch at Bear Lake. People may want to swim at Bear Lake. The  hike has 931 feet elevation gain. Please bring plenty of water, snacks, lunch, hat, sunscreen, hiking boots and hiking poles and insect protection. A rain jacket may come in handy for sudden rain storms. You can join us at the Stockton, Modesto and Sonora Sierra Club Meetup group or the Sierra Club Campfire website.
