Man Arrested After Falling Asleep in Woman’s Basement

A man is in the Calaveras County Jail on felony charges, after he allegedly broke into a woman´s basement and caused some damage.
Deputies originally responded to reports of a woman needing assistance with a trapped animal in her basement, but on further investigation, officers found the suspect, 21-year-old Chris Seyersdahl of San Andreas. He said he didn´t know who the house belonged to, but he had fallen asleep in the basement and couldn´t get out.
Seyersdahl was arrested for burglary, vandalism, and public intoxication. His bail is set at 65-thousand dollars.
