Sonora, CA – Downtown Sonora was filled this afternoon with crowds who lined Washington Street for Sonora High School’s Homecoming Parade.
The theme of this year’s homecoming is “Through the Ages,” with each class designing their float with iconic landmarks from a different time. The freshman float depicted the 1950s, the sophomores 2000’s movies, the juniors was Greco Roman and the senior float was a vision of the future.
The cheerleaders made some noise cheering, and the football players enjoyed the moment in the sun. Jeeps and Corvettes carried the homecoming court, and tonight the king and queen will be crowned.
The Golden Regiment Band had fans dancing in the street as it marched along. Following the parade, the band performed several songs in Courthouse Park with those gathered singing along and cheering the musicians on in hopes of a win on the gridiron tonight.
Tonight’s Sonora High School football game is against the Orestimba Warriors with the dance directly after the game.
