Farm Officials: More Water Storage Needed

Farmers who spoke at a Congressional hearing held in the Central Valley over the weekend say that more water storage has to be built here if California is going to continue to provide a “bountiful food supply.”
Citrus grower Keith Watkins says leaders are focusing on the wrong arguments. “They´re so driven by the environmental fight, everything has to do with how can we re-use the water we´ve got,” he said. “We don´t have enough (water),” he added.
Watkins and other farmers say that unless more water storage is built, water is going to be taken from farms for urban uses instead.
