Former Illinois Governor Talks About Death Penalty

Former Illinois Governor George Ryan is coming to California to talk about the state´s use of the death penalty. Ryan cleared his state´s death row just days before he left office. He will be the star witness at a legislative hearing tomorrow in Sacramento looking at the capital punishment. California has the nation´s largest death row population of about 620 inmates. Ryan´s appearance tomorrow before the Select Committee on the California Correctional System will be his first before a state legislative body outside Illinois.
