Fire Destroys Jamestown Home
A fire completely destroyed a two-story home last night near Jamestown.
A Tuolumne County Sheriff deputy discovered the blaze. Firefighters from Jamestown, Sonora City, Tuolumne County and California Department of Forestry responded just after 11 p.m. last night to the home on the 10000 block of Golf Links Road. The 1,500-square-foot structure was completely involved. Tuolumne County Fire Marshal Kary Hubbard says it was a “very intense” fire.
Hubbard says the damage to the home and two pick-up trucks is estimated at about $180,000. No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
A mobile home park right next to the fire was evacuated for about a half hour as a precaution.
Hubbard didn€™t say if arson is suspected, but investigators will be out again today after the rubble has cooled to seek a cause to that blaze.
