The state´s cattle and logging industries are seeking federal disaster aid to replace cattle and wildlife and restore forest land lost by a fire raging in the Sequoia National Forest. The California Cattlemen´s Association and the California Forestry Association are assessing damage from the blaze that has burned more than 101,000 acres during the past two weeks. Many cattle have been burned or injured by the fire and have had to be euthanized. Ranchers whose cattle graze the forest floor are concerned about the loss of spring and summer grazing for next season. The McNally fire started July 21st and is 55 percent contained. So far, it´s cost 20.6 million to fight.
