According to New York state’s contact tracing data, restaurants and bars account for only 1.4% of the virus spread while household gatherings make up nearly 74%. Those same numbers, plus or minus, probably apply to the other states as well, including California. So why the draconian shutdown of restaurants and other small businesses? And to what end other than the destruction of the state’s economy?
