Vegetation Fire Near New Melones
Calaveras County, CA — Firefighters and all Columbia Air Units are heading to a vegetation fire in Calaveras County. Cal Fire reports the flames broke out in the 3300 block of Stallion Way which is between Copperopolis and Angels Camp near New Melones Lake. There is no word on size, rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened at this time. We will bring you more information as soon as it is available.

Update 12:30 pm: Cal Fire reports the blaze is half an acre to an acre in size and no structures are threatened. They say the rate of spread is slow. The Columbia air units are on scene, but the engines are still making their way to the scene.
UPdate 12:50 pm: Cal Fire reports the fire is containa at around an acre.
