Changing of the Guard at TCVB
Changing of the Guard at the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau
As of November 1 of this year, the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau has a new Executive Director; Lisa Mayo, taking the place of long-time Executive Director, Nanci Sikes. For over two years Lisa has been the Director of Sales and Marketing for the TCVB. Prior to that, Lisa was the Executive Director of the Calaveras Visitors Bureau for nearly 11 years where she gained a huge amount of insight into running a bureau and increasing tourism in a rural destination.
Our area is fortunate in the fact that Lisa grew up in Columbia and has spent a lot of time exploring all the fun things to do in Tuolumne County. She has a passion for our area that goes well beyond the norm. Lisa attended Columbia College and holds a degree in Recreation Administration from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
Lisa is excited to take the TCVB to new heights and we can anticipate increased marketing programs to further reach our key visitor markets. Under her direction we can expect to see more social media marketing, continued participation in joint marketing programs with the High Sierra Visitors Council, the Gold Country Visitors Association and San Francisco Travel as well as new and innovative approaches to attracting visitors to our region on a year-round basis. One of her goals is to also increase the TCVB’s interaction with our community partners.
Lisa has a clear vision of the role of a Visitors Bureau. She sees it as an economic driver through tourism; to encourage potential visitors to become actual visitors and give them many reasons to extend their stay.
