Local Focus for December & January
Like every visitors bureau, the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau’s (TCVB) primary focus is to attract people from outside the area to visit for the first time, to return for additional visits, to extend their time here and to spend money at local businesses.
Some of what we do, however is also designed to serve our local residents and thank them for their continued support. Two such events are coming up.
On Thursday, December 18, from 9 AM to 6 PM, the TCVB will be holding a Holiday Open House at our main office, 542 Stockton Street, across from the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. Its a great opportunity to meet the Visitors Bureau team, enjoy holiday specials on Vacationland merchandise featuring our area, enjoy some holiday cheer and learn more about the Bureau and its impact on the community. No need to RSVP…just show up as we’d love to meet you.
Five years ago, Visit California created a new promotional program designating January as California Restaurant Month. To tie into their yearly event, we’re doing our 3rd annual Restaurant Week; January 18-24. Each year, the program has grown with more restaurants participating.
So far, eleven restaurants from around the county have agreed to be a part of the 2015 Restaurant Week by offering a variety of specials to diners through out the week. More information will be forthcoming in the next few weeks on our web site (www.yosemitegoldcountry.com) with detailed information on each offer. It’s a wonderful opportunity for visitors and residents alike, to sample new places as well as visit your current favorites to experience the wide range of dining options available here.
