Changing of the Guard

It’s been a pleasure sharing the inside workings of the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau (TCVB) these past few years and we continue to appreciate the great support My Mother Lode has given us in our efforts to promote tourism and encourage people to visit the area and return often.

As I’m leaving the TCVB, future blog contributions will be coming from Anna Davies, the new Special Projects Coordinator for the Bureau.

Anna brings a wealth of tourism experience to her position. She began her tourism industry career with California State Parks in Shasta and Trinity Counties in the late 80’s, moved to Hawaii where she worked in resort marketing and management in 1991 and returned to the Greater Bay Area continuing her work in resort marketing.

She was attracted to the foothills and all the area offers, relocating in 2002, and attended classes in a pilot tourism program at Columbia College to expand her experience and gain knowledge of the local tourism industry.

Her local career began in marketing for Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau in 2003, where she first met then, Calaveras Visitors Bureau Director, Lisa Mayo who is now the Executive Director of the TCVB.

As Special Projects Coordinator, she assists Lisa with a variety of activities including the Film Commission, State Fair, the Restaurant Week Program, the new P.I.T. Stops promotion covered in my last blog and more and media relations. She is currently working on 2 media familiarization trips to our area – a tool we’ve used many times in the past to bring in travel writers to garner more media exposure around the world.

Anna brings a new dimension to the TCVB and is excited to be contributing to this blog beginning with the next issue. She feels that promoting tourism in Tuolumne County is truly a passion, not a job!

It has been a honor to share the activities of the TCVB with all of you these past years and rest assured, it will only get better in the future. Again I want to thank My Mother Lode for their continued support and interest in what the TCVB does as tourism is our largest private sector employer.
