Rare kudos for the bi-partisan vote in Congress overturning the Washington D.C. city council’s vote to ease sentences on felonies and then allow non-citizens to vote in local elections. Congress oversees the District by law and, while not strictly of national import, we hope that this rare, rational bi-partisan effort is duplicated when the Senate takes up these two issues and provides some leadership for other misguided municipalities.
