Central Sierra Audubon Society (CSAS) and interested community members will gather in person to view a Zoom presentation about Spotted Sandpipers in the Mono Basin on Wednesday, April 19 at 7 p.m. in the Tuolumne County Library Community Room. The presentation also will be available via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84686922169. Jessica Schaefer, a PhD candidate in the Animal Behavior Graduate Group at the University of California Davis, will talk about her research into Ecological Variation and Reproductive Behavior of Spotted Sandpipers in the Mono Basin. Her research explores variation in the mating and parental behavior of the Sandpipers in this region and asks how behavioral variation relates to ecological factors such as food abundance, predation risks, and social environment. This is an opportunity to meet and socialize in person with other area bird enthusiasts. Zoom information plus information about upcoming bird outings is available on the CSAS web site at www.centralsierraaudubon.org.
