We look forward to honoring Shelly with you!

Shelly is a long time Tuolumne County resident with deep roots in our community. She attended Twain Harte elementary and Summerville High School. She raised her four children in our beautiful town and has run a daycare out of her hame for many years, touching the lives of many children and parents. She has also fostered many children and has taken in countless families to help get them back on their feet. She ran a clean and sober baseball tournament for many years, helping support people with addictions and their families. She loves our community!

On May 5th, 2023 Shelly received the phone call no one ever wants to receive – she heard those three words that flp your whole world upside down. “You have cancer. After having her routine mammogram, they found a lump. It looked suspicious, so they sent her for an ultrasound. The ultrasound didn’t look great, so she went for a biopsy. That’s when they found out definitively that she has invasive Ductal Carcinoma breast cancer. By the grace of God, they found it early, and she is in stage one. After more testing, they found that it has not traveled to her lymph nodes or anywhere else. This is the best-case scenario for the type of cancer that she has. Shelly received her lumpectomy on June 6th and will now start to receive radiation 5 days a week, for 6 weeks, at the infusion center. Shelly is self-employed and still runs a daycare out of her home. She has been off work and is suffering with loss of income while she navigates through this scary time.

Anyone who knows Shelly knows what a caring, selfless and incredible human she is. She is the most kind and loving person who has the biggest heart and is always there for everyonel She is the type of person who would give the shirt off her back and help anyone in need. She is a devated wife, a loving mother, the most incredible grandma, the best aunt, a loving sister and an amazing friand to so many people. She means so much to so many! We will continue to pray and rally together for her while she fights like a girl!
