Railtown 1897 State Historic Park is proud to present lantern-lit “Tales of the Roundhouse” tours and train rides on two evenings only – Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28, 2024, with tours at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Led by engaging and entertaining guides through the park and its historic shop buildings after dark, “Tales of the Roundhouse” participants will hear the real life and death tales of past railroad workers and passengers who lost their lives in ghastly accidents, gruesome train wrecks, and sometimes by cold-blooded murder. Guests will experience a nighttime train ride behind a historic diesel locomotive while listening to intriguing, railroad-related ghost stories, superstitions, and lore.
Guests on the 6:30 p.m. tour will board the train at 7:15; guests on the 7:30 p.m. tour will board the train at 8:15.
Due to the nature of the content, this event is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
