Question: What are some software key commands that I can use to get me around my computer without a mouse?

Answer: Keyboard shortcuts are available to save time from moving your hand from the keyboard to the mouse. Here are some of the more common software comand shortcuts:

Software key commands
Shift + Arrow Key Start the highlighting process, can substitute an arrow key for Home, End, Page Up, or Page Down to highlight larger groups of text easier.
Ctrl + C Copy highlighted text to the clipboard.
Ctrl + X Cut highlighted text to the clipboard, this will look like it was deleted, rest assured it was not.
Ctrl + Esc Opens the Start menu.
Ctrl + V Paste the text that was recently cut or copied to the clipboard.
Ctrl + Z Undo the last thing you did, may work repeatedly to fix several mistakes made
Ctrl + A Select All.
Ctrl + B Switch to Bold font.
Ctrl + U Switch to Underline font.
Ctrl + I Switch to Italic font.
Ctrl + N Open new window.
