The choir of the Presbyterian “Church of the 49ers” is hosting a Community Hymn Festival on Sat, March 23, at 3 pm in the church sanctuary. Guest artist Dr. Daryl Hollinger has put together a fun program of well-known, and varied, hymns for the audience to sing together–to make a joyful noise!
Hollinger teaches music at Columbia College and directs the Community Chorus. He is a talented organist and will accompany many of the hymns on the organ. Other instruments featured during this Hymn Festival are a flute, trumpet, handbells and handchimes.
If you love to sing the old hymns, come to the Church of the 49ers for a joyful experience with other music lovers, and stay for a reception afterward. A free will offering will be taken to offset expenses. The church is located on Parrotts Ferry Road at Jackson Street in Columbia.
