Victorian Easter Celebration In Columbia
Rain or shine, the Easter Parade and traditional egg hunts will take place this Sunday in Columbia.
The President of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Gary Neubert, was Friday’s “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Neubert says that sign-up for the parade will begin at 11 AM with the parade taking place in the downtown historic State Park at 12:30 PM.
The Egg Hunts will begin at noon for ages three to five. A Junior egg hunt for ages six to eight begins at 1 PM and the Great Egg Scramblers (ages 9 to 12) takes place at 1:30 PM.
“This is a Victorian Easter Celebration,” said Neubert. “Old-fashioned and traditional Victorian wear is encouraged. Prizes will be given for fanciest Victorian hat, best-dressed couple, lasses and lads and we’ve heard that Thaddeus E. Hare (the Easter Bunny) will be passing out carrots to the kids.”
Sunday’s events are free of charge.
