Yosemite, CA — Areas of the Mother Lode are experiencing drift smoke from a 715 acre in Yosemite National Park.
Park Ranger Kari Cobb says it was started by a lightning strike on July 31st. It is located in the Avalanche Creek Drainage near Glacier Point. It is burning in a designated wilderness area, and being managed by fire officials. Park officials expect the smoke to get heavier this weekend, and then start to taper off by early next week.
