Grant Request Approved
Sonora, CA — A Tuolumne County Probation Department grant request went before the supervisors this morning.
By a 5-0 vote the Board approved a Probation grant request for $97,453. The funds would be used in a joint venture with approximately 14 other central California counties for a Recovery Act Justice Grant-Evidence Based Probation Supervision Program.
According to Chief Probation Officer Adele Arnold, “The goal here is to reduce felon probationers from going back to prison on a technical violation or on a new charge and as we see the news with the implementation and changes in the law January 25 we have got our hands full and we are going to need to provide as many effective and proven services to work with our population.”
