Gayle Arrest Update

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — Additional charges have been added to the DUI/Hit and Run for 24 year old James Anthony Gayle of Murphys.

According to C.H.P.’s initial report Gayle was arrested at a residence in the Murphys area for driving under the influence and hit and run after hitting a structure support at the Murphys Chevron station with his vehicle. In a highly intoxicated state Gayle fled the scene but he was identified by witnesses and a surveillance camera and subsequently arrested a short time later.

Officer Becky Myers adds that Gayle refused to make a statement, resisted arrest when officers attempted to handcuff him. He then pushed one of the officers who almost fell off a retaining wall.

In addition to the DUI/Hit and Run violations, Gayle was charged with resisting arrest, battery on a peace officer and verbally threatening to harm a peace officer.

This marks Gayle’s second DUI arrest.
