The China House serves authentic mandarin cuisine in a comfortable family setting. They use only the freshest ingredients and will try and accommodate any special request for your healthy diet including; gluten-free, vegetarian, low sodium, and MSG free meals. The China House in Twain Harte was opened in 1988 by Larry and Wendy who both had worked in the restaurant business before. Larry gained his extensive experience working with his father’s restaurant in Marin County. Wendy also had been in the restaurant business for a number of years; working with her parents in Walnut Creek and then Sonora.
In the over 33 years serving Tuolumne county residents and visitors, the China House grew from a single location to three locations in the county. Wendy and Larry decided to scale back to one restaurant, concentrating on the Twain Harte location.
Why Twain Harte? Twain Harte is a wonderful relaxing town; China House is a wonderful relaxing place to enjoy the best Chinese food, prepared by the most experienced cooks in Tuolumne County. Twain Harte is well worth the drive!
