Whitman Leads Spending

Sacramento, CA – In the race for Governor, Meg Whitman has spent $33 million over the past two months and her campaign currently has $3.8 million remaining.
The candidates all filed campaign finance statements on Thursday.
Whitman’s top Republican rival Steve Poizner spent $17 million over the past two months and currently has $3 million left in reserve.
Democratic candidate Jerry Brown, who is not facing stiff competition in the primary, has spent $259,000 over the past two months. Brown reports having $20.6 million left for the campaign.
