Tuolumne County Public Library is gearing up for summer with this year’s “It’s Showtime” Summer Reading Program, beginning Tuesday, June 18, 2019. The Summer Reading Program at Sonora Main Library on 480 Greenley Road host its annual kick-off party on Tuesday, June 18th from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM with our celebrity story reader Maryann Curmi, a performance with students from SRT Jr, face painting, crafts and other fun activities.
All library branches will be offering fun book incentives to children and teens for reading over the summer beginning Tuesday, June 18th.
Tuesday, June 18th is the Opening Day in Tuolumne City and from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM boys and girls will sign-up for the program and win prizes with the “Fish Bowl” toss and Magnetic Board Stick. They will make a Magnetic Scratch-off to decorate the Library and receive their Summer Reading Program supplies. They will also begin an ongoing Art Project with plastic lids of all shapes and sizes.
Groveland Branch will start their programs on Wednesday, June 19th at 1:00 until 2:30 PM with Muppet Treasure Island. Boys and girls will make their own kaleidoscope and eye patch.”
Twain Harte Branch will also begin their special programs on Wednesday, June 19th beginning at 10 AM for Summer Stories with Sasha. At 10:30 AM Twain Harte Branch will offer Magic Show with Kathy and Her Amazing Assistant for children ages 6 and up. There will be an interactive table and reading tent for little ones. Finally, from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM young readers can sign up to read to a Therapy Dog.
Youth of all ages can also sign-up for Summer Reading at any stop the Tuolumne County Library Bookmobile visits. The week of June 19 through June 21 the Bookmobile will visit the following stops:
Tuesday, June 18th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM the vehicle will be at Don Pedro Market and from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM the mobile library will visit East Garden Apartments in Jamestown. On Wednesday, June 19th the bookmobile will be at Strawberry Store from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM the vehicle will visit Willow Springs Club House. Thursday, June 20th the bookmobile will visit Columbia Post Office from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
