Calaveras Business Slowly Starts To Grow Again
The Executive Director of the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce, Diane Gray, is beginning to see evidence of a slow economic rebound.
Gray was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Gray said that there have been several indications that 2010 is shaping up to be a better business year than 2009 was. Available office space is being looked at from a few potentially new and existing business owners and inquiries are being made about available space and locations throughout the county.
“Western Calaveras County communities such as Valley Springs and Copperopolis also appear to the bright spots for business in Calaveras,” said Gray.
Gray continued, “Tourism this Summer has been stronger than last year as well.”
Gray said that a new Angels Camp campaign, approved by the Angels Camp City Council, to brand itself as the “Mountain Sports Capitol of Northern California” seems to already have a positive effect.
The next “Chamber Mixer” will take place on Thursday August 26th at Next! Consignment on Big Trees Road in Murphys from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Gray invites business leaders to come out and network during this time.
The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
