Winter Storms Concluding

The National Weather Service will let the Winter Storm Warning for the Sierra Nevada expire at 6pm tonight.

The snow level will generally remain around 3000 feet throughout the day.


Ten inches to a foot of snow accumulation is possible at 4000 feet. Up to two feet of snow is likely at the higher elevations.


Dodge Ridge ski area near Highway 108 has reported 53 inches of snow within the past 72 hours. Dodge will open on Wednesday.


Bear Valley Mountain along Highway 4 is reporting over 70 inches of snow. Bear Valley will open this Friday.


Kirkwood Ski Resort along Highway 88 is reporting 105 inches of snow. Kirkwood will open on Wednesday.


Winds of thirty to forty-five mph are expected over the higher mountain ridges with some gusts reaching fifty to eighty mph.
