Berryhill: Timber Industry Regulations Need Revision
Sacramento, CA — 25th District Republican Assemblyman Tom Berryhill feels that environmental regulations need to be loosened regarding the timber industry, and it needs to happen soon.
“We sit back and buy timber from other countries that don’t have nearly the environmental standards that we do,” says Berryhill. “And we wonder why we don’t have any jobs in the state of California.”
Berryhill says he feels that policies need to change and rules altered so that timber companies have a better opportunity to compete in California. He says lawmakers need to address the matter in the immediate future.
