Michael E. LaSalle, author of “No Trail to Follow, The First Wagon Party to California in 1841”, will be the guest speaker at the Tuolumne County Historical Society’s Thursday August 8th, 7PM program at the Library on Greenly Rd , Sonora.
Mr. LaSalle has been drawn to the historical era of the covered wagon and the emigrant trails of the far west. His book tells the story of the Bartleson Bidwell party, who left Missouri in May 1841. He has used first-hand accounts from the diaries of John Bidwell and James John to tell how the party groped across unchartered territory of the far west.
Everyone is welcome, the program is free.
