Seven-Year-Old Boy Missing In Emigrant Wilderness

Pinecrest, CA — A full scale search is underway in the Emigrant Wilderness near Pinecrest for a seven-year-old Modesto boy who went missing Saturday.

Brian Hill was reported missing to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office at 5:48pm Saturday. Sgt. A.J. Ford says he was on a camping trip with his family and last seen near Dutch Lake. The boy was walking back to a campsite with his father and others following an afternoon of fishing and ran ahead of the group along a trail. When the group returned to the campsite, Hill had not arrived.

Helping with a search Sunday morning are the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, Search and Rescue, Calaveras County Search and Rescue, Forest Service, CHP and volunteers.
