Plans Continue For New Sonora McDonald’s Store
Sonora, CA — A groundbreaking date for the new McDonald’s store on Mono Way and Sanguinetti Rd. has yet to be determined.
According to Sonora City Administrator Greg Applegate, "It’s our understanding with McDonald’s right now that construction drawings are being worked upon and that once those are completed then they would also be submitting them to the city for approval and we would be looking at grading plans to get that project off the ground and going."
As far as a groundbreaking date is concerned, "Often on projects like this the developer will take a look at the window and if they get into the window of a full blown winter it could very well be a spring project. If they (California Gold Development Corporation) get their plans out quickly we could be looking at a late fall groundbreaking."
The current McDonald’s store at the Junction Shopping Center will close upon the opening of the new store.
