The Columbia Chamber of Commerce presents its 35th annual Harvest Festifall, an arts and crafts fair, to be held in Columbia State Historic Park on Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13. Hours are 9 to 5 on Saturday, and 10 to 5 Sunday. More than 45 vendor booths will be set up on Main Street and State Street, where artisans in period costume will display their handmade crafts for sale, including jewelry, pottery, apparel, home décor, wood furniture and toys, baked goods, soaps and lotions, and many others. And some vendors will demonstrate how their crafts are made.
This old-fashioned festival on the shady streets of Columbia is for all ages, and admission is free. We have local musicians providing entertainment, and Rosanna Sampson and her dancers will demonstrate Gold Rush-era dances Saturday afternoon, inviting spectators to join them. While adults shop, there are activities for the children–including getting their faces painted by artist Jody Perry and searching for the perfect Halloween pumpkin.
