Sonora, CA — According to Sgt. Glenn Roberts of the Sonora Police Department some 12-15,000 people are expected for Friday´s Christmas Parade.

At 5pm parade traffic patterns within the city limits will take effect. Southbound Hwy 49 (N. Washington) will be closed from the Red Church to Restano Way. Southbound traffic will be diverted to Elkin St. and then to Stewart St.

Northbound traffic on S. Washington will be diverted to Hospital Rd. Traffic will move to Mono Way where a U-turn will be permitted to head downtown.

Westbound Mono Way traffic will be diverted to Stewart, Elkin and then to N. Wahington.

Eastbound Stockton Rd. motorists will experience a hard closure at Green St. A U-turn will be permitted to return to the Hwy 108 Bypass. Those wishing to proceed northbound to Angels Camp-San Andreas will take Forest Rd. to Bonanza to Racetrack and then Hwy 49.
