Supervisors Approve T.G.H. Final Impact Evaluation Report

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — By a unanimous 5-0 vote Tuesday morning the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors approved the final impact evaluation report on the closure of emergency room services offered at Tuolumne General Hospital.

County Health Officer Dr. Todd Stolp cautioned the supervisors that although there has been a tremendous effort on the part of so many in the Tuolumne County healthcare industry to limit possible problems with the transition of services to Sonora Regional Medical Center, it must be understood that there will be some speed bumps along the way.

County Administrative Officer Craig Pedro agreed with that comment adding that his office, for the time being, will be have the responsibility of overseeing the entire transitional process in conjunction with Dr. Stolp.

With the exception of the skilled nursing facility (long term care) and the Psych Unit, Tuolumne General Hospital will close its doors June 30.
