Copperopolis Road Fee Program Postponed
Copperopolis, CA — Formal adoption of an update to the Copperopolis Roadway Impact Fee program was postponed indefinitely by the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Tuesday.
Last week the board introduced the ordinance, which says $67 million is needed for road improvements. A fee schedule for the program was to be further studied and return at a later date.
Staff says after talking to County Counsel, the whole matter should be postponed and the two items need to be carried together.
Additionally, Castle and Cooke has agreed to extend its Copperopolis Town Square development agreement, which binds them to the new fees with a deadline of August. Public Works Director Rob Houghton says another three months will be added to the agreement.
