CHP Continues Enforcement On Highway 49

Grass Valley, CA — The California Highway patrol is exercising maximum enforcement on Highway 49 between Auburn and Grass Valley.
Officers say the area is known for high-speed accidents. Reports indicate drivers accelerate coming down the hill outside of Grass Valley.
When officers last patrolled the area heavily, they issued 173 tickets in a 12-day period. Caltrans plans to install a centerline rumblestrip, wider double-yellow lines and more speed limit signage in the area.
